The Moonie Skerry is an island off the coast of the East Antarctic Kemplands . It is located in the center of the Rigel Skerries in the Øygarden archipelago .

The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after Patrick John Moonie (1936-2016), leader of the dog sled team that had set up a supply depot here in 1975.
