moonrise is a rock band , which since its founding in the early 1990s has earned a steadily growing fan base with changing line- ups . They play in the classic rock band manner with vocals, guitar, bass, drums and keyboards.

Blackest Blue

The year 2008 was all about studio work. In January the first recording sessions for “Blackest Blue” began in the Otterbau Studio under the direction of producer and Girls Under Glass bassist Axel Ermes . Here the band first played the basic tracks live to capture the atmosphere of the songs. In the subsequent post-production, which spanned the year, moonrise refined the songs with experimental sounds and other intuitive ideas. The band was particularly happy about the backing vocals contributed by Jenny Kähler, who worked with Axel Ermes and his Girls Under Glass, among others. The work on "Blackest Blue" continued with a few interruptions until late autumn 2008.

Cooperations

In the summer of 2008, moonrise followed Peter Heppner's call to Berlin to record an alternative version for “Vorbei” with him. The cooperation can be found on the fan edition of his album "Solo", which was released on September 12, 2008. At the beginning of 2009 moonrise accompanied Peter Heppner to Berlin and played for him as support in the Kulturbrauerei. At the end of 2012, moonrise also appeared as the opening act for some concerts on Heppner's My Heart of Stone Tour .
