The station is located on the four-track section in the direction of Harrow-on-the-Hill and has two central platforms. Until the end of the 1990s, trains of the Chiltern Railways also stopped here , since then they have been running without stopping.

history

The line to Rickmansworth had already been opened in 1887 by the Metropolitan Railway (predecessor of the Metropolitan Line). At the beginning, however, the population density in the area was very low, which is why the station did not open until May 9, 1910. The name of the station was initially Sandy Lodge , after the neighboring golf course . The station was renamed Moor Park & Sandy Lodge on October 18, 1923 .

On January 5, 1925, the Harrow-on-the-Hill - Rickmansworth section was electrified. On November 2 of the same year, the branch line was opened towards Watford , which was electrified from the start. With the renewed renaming on September 25, 1950 in Moor Park , any reference to the golf course was omitted. After the station had been completely rebuilt in 1959, the route between Northwood Hills and the Croxleyhall junction northwest of Moor Park received a second double track three years later.
