The Moorkanal is a canal in the Peute industrial area in the Hamburg district of Veddel . It is 270 meters long and, except for the crossing of the Moorkanalbrücke, where it narrows to 30 meters, it is 52 meters wide.

The canal branches off from the Müggenburger Canal in a north-northeast direction ( Lage ) and ends at the Hove Canal ( Lage ). About halfway it is spanned by the listed Moorkanalbrücke, which was completed in 1914 and actually consists of two structurally separate bridges for Hovestrasse on the one hand and for a track of the Hamburg port railway on the other.

The Moorkanal is a state waterway and belongs to the port area of ​​the Port of Hamburg . It is part of the tidal port and falls completely dry during the low tide.
