Song edits

Some of MDB's songs are adaptations of popular non-Jewish songs.

  • Lichtiger Shabbos on the album Just One Shabbos , (under the title Yiddish on Solid MBD ) is an adaptation of Close Every Door To Me from the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber .
  • Yidden auf Jerusalem: Not For Sale uses the title Dschinghis Khan from the German pop group Dschinghis Khan .
  • Father Dear on Yerushalayim Our Home (under the title "Daddy Dear" on The English Collection ) uses the title Little Child , which many singers have interpreted, ins. Cab Calloway and his daughter in 1956; this song is again based on a French song.
