Moresceni

Moresceni , also Morazena , was a medieval district . It was east of Magdeburg and the North Thuringia and southeast of the Balsamgau between Havel and Elbe, thus also east of the tribal duchy of Saxony .

In 965 Otto I. (HRR) donated the places Loburg and Tucheim , which were in this district, to the Moritz monastery in Magdeburg, at the request of the recently deceased Count in this Gau Gero .

Ecclesiastically the area, to which Ziesar belonged, was assigned to the diocese of Brandenburg .
