Moritz Ziller Monument
In the Lößnitzgrund there is a semicircular niche with two benches inserted into the western slope on the promenade along the Lößnitzbach . It houses the Moritz Ziller memorial , an inscription plate attached under a triangular gable with the text:
With the memorial, the Beautification Association for the Lößnitz honored its founder and long-term chairman (1880–1892) Moritz Ziller (1838–1895), who had died in 1895. The younger of the two Ziller brothers , Gustav Ziller (1842–1901), was still alive.
Between the end of 2014 and the middle of 2016, the damaged historical commemorative plaque was removed and archived as the original and replaced by a copy attached to the same location.
The cultural monument is located west of the stream on Niederlößnitzer Flur, but is classified in the list of monuments as Lößnitzgrundstraße (Wahnsdorf) 9000 . The address for finding the monument on the edge of the forest path of the Verschönerungsverein, also known as the Bilz hiking trail , is about opposite Lößnitzgrundstraße 41, where the farm building of Villa Annabella is located, or south of No. 46, the former administration building of the Niederlößnitz power station .
A little north of the monument, the Rieselgrund brook flows into the Lößnitzbach on the opposite bank. The stream comes from the mountain gorge, also called Rieselgrund, which leads down from the highlands near Wahnsdorf to the valley. The Grundhof park lies to the south on the slope above the monument ; to the north, for example, is the former inn “Zum Jägerhof”, which is also listed as a monument .
