The Rieselgrund is a left side valley of the Lößnitzgrund . The narrow Kerbtal is located in the Wahnsdorf district of the Saxon city of Radebeul . It leads south of the village of Wahnsdorf from the plateau belonging to the Lausitzer Platte in a westerly direction down to the Lößnitzgrund and overcomes around 70 to 80 meters in altitude. In the south, the forests of the Rieselgrund border the western border of the Hoflößnitz vineyard landscape .

The Rieselgrund with its wooded slopes is part of the 115 hectare fauna-flora-habitat area Lößnitzgrund and Lößnitzhang ( Natura 2000 area, EU registration number: DE4847304, state internal number: 159), part of area 2 (“Lößnitzgrund – Ost "). This sub-area 2 is "almost completely" in the Lößnitz landscape protection area .

The stream, also known as Rieselgrund , flows in the bottom and flows into the Lößnitzbach and represents one of its left tributaries.

In the valley runs the Rieselgrundweg , so named around 1900 , the connection path between Wahnsdorf and the former Carlowitz or Pönitzsch mill on the Lößnitzbach , a water mill that was later converted into the Niederlößnitz power station . The path begins there on Lößnitzgrundstraße directly south of the villas No. 47 and 49 located there and runs north of the Villa Annabella property in an easterly direction. Halfway along the eastern part, a steep, partly stepped stairway branches off to the north, which leads to the “Zum Pfeiffer” mountain inn . The Rieselgrundweg then overcomes the remaining meters of the steep ascent of the Lusatian fault in a north-easterly direction leading to the plateau that belongs to the Lusatian plate . There it then runs in a northerly direction to the western edge of the Angers Altwahnsdorf .

The Rieselgrund with the Rieselgrundweg ascending to the east is located in the historic wine-growing area of Radebeul . The Rieselgrundweg, which then runs to the northeast, forms the northern border of the monument protection area until it bends to the north after overcoming the slope edge.
