Moritz Robert Hellfritzsch (born January 25, 1983 in Bonn ) is a German director and author .

Life

Moritz Hellfritzsch came into contact with punk culture at an early age and has been a staunch advocate of the DIY lifestyle ever since. After graduating from high school at Carl von Ossietzky High School , he made his first attempts as a filmmaker, making a few short films and music videos, among others. a. for the death metal band Jack Slater and the rapper Jean . After completing his training as a design assistant for audiovisual media , he studied online editing at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences until 2012 . In the same year Hellfritzsch's documentary Punk appeared in Bonn - the film Vol. I , which premiered on October 13th in Bonn and was then shown in various cinemas and at film festivals. a. at the Too Drunk To Watch punk film festival in Berlin. Hellfritzsch's feature film debut Thief - Someday You Will Pay premiered on October 13, 2017 at the INDIGO Filmfest . The publication on DVD, Blu-ray and as video-on-demand was followed in December 2017 by Hellfritzsch's short novel The Return of the Witches , which is a spin-off from Thief . At the beginning of 2019 Hellfritzsch published his second novel Das Echo der Schreie , which u. a. was reviewed in the features section of the General-Anzeiger . Schnüss editor-in-chief Gitta List wrote about the novel: "Gore fans get their money's worth with this blood-drenched work as well as homeland friends (those of the not too tender kind anyway) [...]"

Others

Moritz Hellfritzsch sang with the punk band 131 from 2011 to 2015 . In 2020 he contributed the vocals to Chris Crusher's song "Bonn-Stomp" as a feature guest.
