Moritz Björn Thimm (born September 23, 1981 in Leverkusen ) is a German basketball player who currently plays for TuS Opladen in the 2nd Regionalliga West 1. Thimm is 2.02 meters tall. He plays the position of the Center .

Moritz Thimm began his career in the youth of Fastbreak Leverkusen. He then moved to TuS Opladen, where he played in all men's teams. In 2005 he made the leap into the upper division team of TuS Opladen.

In 2008/09 the Bayer Giants Leverkusen signed Moritz Thimm as a center backup (bank player) for the actual starter Nicolas Welling in the Regionalliga West. Thimm played a good regional league season and played a major role in the Giants' ascent to the ProB .

Moritz Thimm, who has now matured into a crowd favorite in Leverkusen, extended his contract by one year with the Bayer Giants from Leverkusen in July 2009.

In 2011 Moritz Thimm moved back to TuS Opladen for lack of time.

In 2013 he then moved to the regional league team Leichlinger TV.

Moritz Thimm is the son of the former national basketball player Norbert Thimm , who was the first German professional basketball player to move abroad (at that time Real Madrid ). His sisters Mayte (BBZ Opladen) and Birte Thimm (New Baskets Oberhausen) both play in the DBBL (Women's Basketball Bundesliga).
