The Morosche carrot soup , even Moro soup called, is a carrot soup , consisting exclusively of carrots is prepared, water and salt. The soup, first published by Ernst Moro at the beginning of the 20th century , is administered as a home remedy for diarrheal diseases , similar to porridge .

preparation

For Morosche carrot soup , only half a kilo of peeled carrots are boiled in one liter of water for a longer period of time, at least 90 minutes. After straining , the carrots are pureed . Then the soup is made up to one liter with boiling water and 3 g of salt are added.

With other variants of the soup, some pieces of meat are also added during preparation. It is also common to add meat broth .

Use as a home remedy and remedy

The Morosche carrot soup is used as a natural remedy in the human and veterinary use.

It was first published at the beginning of the 20th century. The renowned Austrian pediatrician Ernst Moro, at that time working as a senior physician at the children's clinic at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , succeeded in drastically reducing the death and complication rate of children with diarrheal diseases by administering this carrot soup in 1908. Moro prepared the soup according to old house recipes, with which he saved the lives of many children in his sphere of activity.

According to more recent findings, so-called acidic oligogalacturonides have an effect here , which attach to germs in the intestine and thus help with healing.
