A carrot or carrot soup is a soup whose main ingredient is carrots cooked in a broth . Different types of carrot soup are widespread internationally, although the preparations and ingredients can vary. Classic carrot soups can be made with meat or sausage as well as vegetarian .

Preparation and variations

What all carrot soups have in common is that initially sliced ​​or diced carrots are sometimes cooked in a broth with other ingredients such as potatoes , parsnips , legumes such as lentils or chickpeas as well as soup vegetables made from celery and leek .
