Morreira is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Morreira belongs to the district of Braga in the same district Braga . The community had an area of 3.6 km² and 747 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). The place is only slightly urbanized .
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Morreira and Trandeiras were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Morreira e Trandeiras . Morreira is the seat of this newly formed community.
