Moshe Wertman

Moshe Wertman ( Hebrew משה ורטמן; * February 20, 1924 in Tomaszów Lubelski , Poland ; † October 2, 2011 ) was an Israeli politician .

Life

Wertman was a member of Hashomer Hatzair from 1936 to 1939 . Furthermore he belonged to the Dror youth movement and was a member of Poalei Zion . In 1947 he emigrated to the British Mandate Palestine , where he was active in the Hagana . In 1948 he joined Mapai . From 1949 to 1955 he worked for trade unions in the Haifa Workers Council , then from 1955 to 1959 director of the Branches Department of the Haifa Workers Council and then from 1959 to 1969 worked in the secretary's office of the Haifa Workers Council . In addition to these activities, he was active in Mapai, and later in Maarach. In January 1966 he moved to the Knesset for Moshe Karmel . In the two following Knesset elections, Wertman was able to defend his mandate and was thus a member of parliament until June 13, 1977.

Wertman was married and had three children.
