MotorStorm Pacific Rift is an off-road racing game and the sequel to MotorStorm . Like the first part, it was developed by Evolution Studios and Havok and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in October 2008. The sequel to this game is MotorStorm: Arctic Edge .

vehicles

As in the predecessor, there are also the following vehicles: motorcycle, quad, buggy, rally car, racing truck, off-road vehicle, truck. The monster truck has now been added.

Single player

There are 16 different routes, 4 of which are subordinate to a category: water, fire, air, earth. There are also 3 different types of races: standard races, elimination races, time races.

The aim is to win a total of 96 races in order to receive new challenges, vehicle bodies and short videos.

Multiplayer

There are different variants in the multiplayer mode: Offline: 4-way split-screen mode as well as online: time trial, ranked game, friendly games, user-defined game

The ranking mode looks like this: At the beginning you start with the rank newcomer bronze. If you have now earned 100% -points you get into the next higher rank newcomer silver. If you have received more 100% points, you are in the rank of newcomer gold. Then you get to the levels beginner, veteran, hero, legend. For each of these ranks there is also the division bronze, silver and gold. The highest rank is Legend Gold 100%.

How do you get% points?

You can win percentage points, but you can also lose them again. It always depends on what rank you yourself have in relation to your opponents in the lobby. If you z. B. has a worse rank than a few other drivers and you win a few "points" yourself, but the other way round you can of course lose some if you do poorly.

Negative in online mode

On the one hand, there are the lags that occur frequently and are mistakenly perceived as cheats by many players. There are also frequent server problems compared to other PS3 games. If there are such problems in the race, you will be listed last in that race and logically receive -% - points.

extension

In the PlayStation Store you can purchase 2 different items with route extensions, which are called "Adrenaline" and "Speed".
