Motorite Racing is a Johannesburg and Cape Town- based motorsport organizer , racing team and racing car manufacturer in South Africa . In addition, the company offers with its insurance company Motorite Insurance Administrators (Pty) Ltd , better known as Motorite Way , the largest independent insurance for racers in the country.

history

The company was founded in 1984 as a racing team and insurance company. The main customers were the South African manufacturers Toyota and Volkswagen , for which the company provides drivers and therefore also developed its own vehicle parts for the upcoming racing events. The insurance company also established further branches in Botswana and Namibia . The company currently employs almost 200 people.

The Revo

The Revo is a 1997 by Achim Bergmann for off-road use (Engl. Off-street ) designed in-house development and the company has already gained several victories. Depending on the upcoming challenge, a different variant of the model is used, which only differs in terms of different body parts. As motorization Revo is a 6 liter - V8 engine of the type General Motors LS2 , which is also in the Chevrolet Corvette was built by 2007. The power is around 300  kW . A manual Sadev SC90 with six gears is used as the transmission. The off-roader has a very strong acceleration due to the motor-gearbox combination, so that Motorite Racing was forced to install additional air flow limiters for safety reasons . The maximum speed of the Revo should be 180  km / h .
