Mouhijärvi [ ˈmou̯ɦiˌjærʋi ] is a former municipality in western Finland with around 3000 inhabitants. It is located in the Pirkanmaa countryside, 41 km west of Tampere . Neighboring towns and municipalities of Mouhijärvi were Hämeenkyrö in the north, Nokia in the east and Vammala in the south and west.

Mouhijärvi has two settlement centers: Uotsola and Häijää. The community also includes the villages Eskola, Hahmajärvi, Hermala, Hyynilä, Iirola, Kairila, Kari, Kortesjärvi, Lampinen, Mierola, Murto, Mustianoja, Pukara, Rienilä, Ryömälä, Saikkala, Salmi, Tervamäki, Tiisala, Tomula, Tupurla, Venesmäki, Vestola, Vesunti and Yliskallio.

The parish of Mouhijärvi was created in 1639 when it was separated from the parish of Karkku and originally also included the former parishes of Lavia (now the city of Pori ) and Suodenniemi , which belonged to the municipality of Vammala from 1867 . In 1867, as a result of local government reform, the political municipality Mouhijärvi was founded, at the same time Lavia and Suodenniemi were separated from Mouhijärvi. At the beginning of 2009, Mouhijärvi merged with Vammala and Äetsä to form the new town of Sastamala . In 2015 Lavia was incorporated into the city of Pori.

Mouhijärvi is more rural and has few sights in the traditional sense. On the other hand, the nature of the municipality with its 30 lakes attracts many visitors; in Mouhijärvi there are a total of around 1000 holiday homes ( mökki ).
