Moulès Church

Moulès is a district of the town of Arles in the French department of Bouches-du-Rhone . In 2007, 1384 people lived here.

The village is in the middle of the Crau countryside , near Raphèle-lès-Arles . Moulès is located about twelve kilometers east from the city of Arles, with which it on the secondary road D is connected 83rd

church

The church of Sainte-Hippolyte de Moulès was the first church founded in the tenth century by Teucinde of Arles , later founder of Montmajour Abbey . At first the church was dependent on Saint Trophime . In 1237 the bishop donated the church to the Cistercian Sisters of Mollégès . Later the residents asked for a new church to be built, which was consecrated on April 16, 1682. When this became too small, it was replaced again. This new church was consecrated on August 29, 1841 and the bell tower was added in 1853.
