Mouma Das

Mouma Das (born February 24, 1984 in Calcutta ) is an Indian table tennis player . She won several medals in the Commonwealth Games and took part in the Olympic Games twice. This is right-handed and uses the European shakehand style for the handle .

Career

In 1997 she appeared internationally for the first time, at the World Championships she was able to reach the third round. Because of injuries she could only take part in a few tournaments in 1998.

From 2001 to 2018 she took part in all eighteen world championships, but did not come close to a medal rank. She won her first international gold medal at the 2nd Children International Sports Games . At the 2015 Commonwealth Games , Das won silver in singles. The Indian also qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games through the qualification tournament in Hong Kong.

There she lost to Daniela Dodean in the first round . At the Czech Open in the same year she reached the semi-finals in the women's doubles together with Manika Batra , and at the Spanish Open 2017 they even won silver. In 2018 Das won gold with the team at the Commonwealth Games , as well as in doubles.
