Mount Alexandra is a 1274 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises on the south side of the formation area of the Garwood Glacier in the Denton Hills .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named it in 1994 after the botanist Jane Alexandra (1829-1892), who was born in Calcutta , India and who emigrated to New Zealand in 1862 , who studied the study of lower plants .
