Mount Balchen is a 3,085 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises 10 km east of the summit of Mount Fridtjof Nansen in the Herbert Range of the Queen Maud Mountains .
The southern group of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1961–1962) named it after the Norwegian polar explorer Bernt Balchen (1899–1973).
