Mount Bubier is a mountain on Thurston Island off the Eights coast of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 6.5 km south of the northern tip of the Edwards Peninsula .
Its position was determined from aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy in December 1946 during Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1968 after Kennard F. Bubier (1902–1983), aircraft mechanic on the first Antarctic expedition (1928–1930) of the US polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd .
