The Edwards Peninsula is a 32 km long and icy peninsula on the north coast of Thurston Island off the coast of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It lies between Murphy Inlet and Koether Inlet .
Your position was determined from aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy in December 1946 during Operation Highjump (1946–1947) and those of the Navy squadron VX-6 from January 1960. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after Lieutenant Donald L. Edwards, navigator on the icebreaker USCGC Burton Island during the US Navy's research voyage in February 1960 into the Bellingshausen Sea .
