Mount Colombo is a 1022 m high, mountainous formation in Marie Byrd Land in western Antarctica . It rises 3 miles north of Mount Richardson in the northeastern part of the Fosdick Mountains in the Ford Ranges .
It was discovered during an overflight on December 5, 1929 during the first Antarctic expedition (1928–1930) of the US polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd . Namesake is Louis P. Colombo (1910-1995), participant of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941), which visited the area around this geographical object in December 1940.
