At 3747 m, Mount Columbia in Alberta ( Canada ) is the second highest mountain in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and the highest mountain in Alberta after Mount Robson .
It is located on the northern edge of the Columbia Ice Field in Jasper National Park on the border between the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia , its summit is in Alberta. Mount Columbia was named after the Columbia River by J. Norman Collie . Its first ascent took place in 1902 by James Outram and Christian Kaufmann .
