Mount Gobey is a 3125 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is the highest mountain in the Retreat Hills and rises on the southern edge of the Evans Firnfeld .
The northern group of a campaign carried out from 1966 to 1967 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition climbed him on December 26, 1966. The members of the group named him after field research assistant David W. Gobey, who belonged to the group.
