The Mount Joan is a mountain on Vancouver Iceland , British Columbia . It is located about 20 km northwest of Port Alberni and at 1,556 m it is the highest of the peaks of the Beaufort Range , a mountain range that runs between Courtenay and Port Alberni. The Beaufort Range is in turn part of the Vancouver Island Ranges . The mountain was named after Joan Moorehead and the nearby Mount Hal after her brother.
