Mount Kazukaitis is a mountain to the west of Thurston Island off the Eights coast of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Walker Mountains, it looms at the base of the Hughes Peninsula .
Its position was first determined from aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy in December 1946 during Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1961 after the American-New Zealand photographer Frank Kazukaitis (1927-2008), who was involved in the creation of aerial photographs of the Walgreen as part of the expedition undertaken by the US Navy in the Bellingshausen Sea in February 1960 Coast and Eights Coast and participated in several Operation Deep Freeze campaigns.
