Mount Mallis

Mount Mallis is a 1360  m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It looms in the Prince Albert Mountains halfway between Mount Joyce and Mount Billing .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1956 and 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after the American geophysicist Robert R. Mallis, who in the Antarctic winter of 1966 on the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station .
