Mount Markab is a 1350 m high mountain on the Rymill coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . As the highest point of the Pegasus Mountains, it rises about 16 km northeast of Gurney Point .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1976 after the star Markab in the constellation Pegasus .
