The Pegasus Mountains are a 26 km long mountain range of ridges and peaks on the Rymill coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula , which is broken through by two mountain passes. They rise up between the Bertram and Ryder glaciers immediately east of Gurney Point on the banks of George VI Sound . From north to south they include Mount Markab ( 1350 m ), Mount Alpheratz ( 1300 m ) and Mount Crooker ( 570 m ).
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1976 after the constellation Pegasus .
