Mount Alpheratz is a 1300 m high mountain in the west of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises about 16 km east-northeast of Gurney Point in the southeastern ridge of the Pegasus Mountains .
Scientists from the British Antarctic Survey conducted surveys between 1970 and 1972. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1976 after the star Alpheratz in Pegasus Square .
