Mount McCoy is a 923 m high, table mountain -like massif with dark, snow-free and steep slopes near the Ruppert coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . It rises up on the eastern flank of the Land Glacier .
Scientists of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941) discovered him during an overflight in December 1940 and named him after James Charles McCoy (1905-1981), pilot on some flights from the west base of this expedition.
