The Land Glacier is an expansive, 56 km long and strongly jagged glacier on the Ruppert coast of the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It flows from the Antarctic Ice Sheet to Land Bay , where it flows into the Southern Ocean between Eldred Point to the west and Castillo Point to the east .
It was discovered during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). Namesake is Emory Scott Land (1879–1971), Rear Admiral of the United States Navy and Chairman of the United States Maritime Commission .
