Mount Nimrod is a 2835 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises about 6.5 km south-southeast of Mount Saunders in the Dominion Range .
Participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909), led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, discovered him. The mountain is named after the research ship Nimrod , which also gave the expedition its name.
