Mount Nivea is a prominent, snow-capped mountain of 1265 m height on Coronation Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It rises at the head of the Sunshine Glacier . A series of rock towers lie on its northwest side.
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey surveyed the mountain between 1948 and 1949 and named it after the snow petrels ( Pagodroma nivea ) that breed in the area .
