Mount Pawson

Mount Pawson is a 1225  m high mountain on the Lassiter coast of the Palmerland in the south of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 11 km southeast of the Mohn Peaks .

Scientists from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey and the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948) mapped it during a joint excursion between 1947 and 1948. The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after David L. Pawson, biologist on an Antarctic summer expedition between 1965 and 1966 the USCGC Eastwind from Palmer Station .
