Mount Peterson is a 1,100 m high mountain in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . Its summit rises from the Antarctic Ice Sheet 35 km northwest of Mount Rex .
The mountain lies within a group of nunataks that the American polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth sighted and photographed during an overflight on November 23, 1935. Scientists from the US Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948) explored this area. Expedition leader Finn Ronne named the mountain after Harries-Clichy Peterson (1924–2002), physicist on this expedition.
