Mount Rex is a 1105 m high and isolated mountain in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 88 km south-southeast of the FitzGerald Bluffs .
The American polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth discovered and photographed him during an overflight on November 23, 1935. Scientists from the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948) sighted him again. Expedition leader Finn Ronne named him after Lieutenant Daniel F. Rex of the United States Navy , who was involved in the preparation of the expedition's scientific program and its equipment.
