Mount Rendu is a mountain about 2100 m high on the Loubet coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . On the Arrowsmith Peninsula , it looms between the Reid and Heim glaciers . On the northeast flank of Mount Rendu is the protruding rock formation Bauer Buttress .
The Falklands Islands Dependencies Survey mapped it based on surveys and aerial photographs between 1948 and 1959. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the French bishop and naturalist Louis Rendu (1789-1859), a pioneer of glacier research.
