The Bauer Buttress is a protruding rock formation on the Arrowsmith Peninsula on Loubet Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises on the northeast flank of Mount Rendu near the head end of the Heim Glacier .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in the course of geodetic work for the British Antarctic Survey between 1980 and 1981. The namesake is the French engineer and glaciologist Albert Bauer (1916-2003), who lived on the Kerguelen , Adélieland , Greenland and Iceland was active.
