Mount Roper is a striking and 3660 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Royal Society Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it looms between Mount Hooker and Salient Peak .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named him in 1994 after Charles A. "Cas" Roper, who had been part of the cast at Scott Base between 1976 and 1977, was chief scientist there in the Antarctic winter of 1980 and was responsible for the scientific program there over a period of 20 years supervised.
