Mount Shearer is a 2100 m high mountain in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the center of the Bowers Mountains it rises 3 km northwest of Mount Jamroga .
The New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1983 after the New Zealand politician Ian John Shearer (* 1941), New Zealand Minister for Science and Technology from 1980 to 1983.
