Mount Shirshov ( Russian Гора Ширшова Gora Schirschowa ) is a small mountain in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It rises 3 miles northeast of Mount Selwood in the Tula Mountains .
Geologists from the Soviet Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1961 to 1962, visited the mountain and named it after the Soviet polar explorer Pyotr Schirschow (1905-1953). The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) translated the name into English on October 22, 1968.
