history
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai was founded on June 28, 1963 by Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York. The associated hospital had existed since 1852. The first students began their studies in 1968.
Education
It is one of the best apprenticeships for medical and life sciences in the United States. Her PhD program is currently rated third best (survey by Academic Analytics) and the NIH ranks her 18th in terms of funds raised.
