Belgian men's national hockey team

The Belgian national hockey team for men represents Belgium in international competitions. She is the reigning world and European champion. Acting coach is Shane McLeod . After the Champions Challenge 2007, which was hosted by Belgium and which finished the team in last (sixth) place, Gilles Bonnet and his assistant Pascal Kina were sacked.

Between 1920 and 1978 Belgium took part in two of the first three world championships and in eleven of thirteen Olympiads . In Belgium hockey has been played in clubs since 1902 and 1904. In 1907 the Belgian Hockey Federation was founded. Belgium played its first international game against Germany . The association is one of the founding members of the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

Belgium currently ranks third in the world and first in Europe.
