The Namibian national hockey team for men is the national hockey team of the South West African Republic of Namibia . It was founded in 2001 together with the Namibia Hockey Union .

The coach is Randolph Slabbert , the assistant coach is Erwin Handura .

For the first time, a team from Africa who had never participated in an international hockey tournament before was able to qualify for the indoor hockey world championship 2011 with Namibia . So far, the only representative from Africa in all competitions has always been the national team from South Africa . Namibia came last with only two goals scored.

Currently (as of May 2020) Namibia ranks 17th in the world - and 2nd in the Africa ranking.
