The English men's national hockey team represents England on an international level in hockey, for example at the World Hockey Championship or the Champions Trophy . The English team was no longer represented at the Summer Olympics after 1908 because there was a British national hockey team for this event.
England won the gold medal in the 1908 Olympic Hockey Games in London . England also became European field hockey champions in 2009. At world championships they have so far reached the semi-finals twice.
England currently ranks 7th in the world and 3rd in Europe.
