The men's European field hockey championship in 1991 was the sixth edition of the men's European field hockey championship . It took place in Paris from June 12 to 23 . The defending champions Netherlands lost 3-1 to Germany in the final .

Twelve teams took part, initially playing in two groups of six. The draw took place on October 16, 1990. Participants were France as hosts, the first six of the EM 1987 - the Netherlands, England, Germany, the Soviet Union, Poland and Ireland, as well as the qualifiers from five qualifying tournaments, or comparisons between Switzerland, Belgium and Wales , Italy, Spain. The GDR team lost to the Belgian selection in two comparisons on April 20 and 21, 1990 in Brussels with 1: 6 and 0: 4.
