Hockey at the Olympics
Hockey was included inthe Olympic program of the IOCin London in 1908 . Women first started in hockey in Moscow in 1980 .
The game is played in the open air on artificial turf for two halves of 30 minutes in length, up to 35 minutes in 2012. Ten field players and one goal player compete against each other. All other hockey variations are not Olympic.
Competitions
There are two competitions in the Olympic Games - one each for men and one for women.
